May channel stats
May saw our public video views top 900k.
We picked up 99k views and 238 subs, posted 9 videos, and added one featured channel. There are now over 100 channels and flexers with videos on FlexingLads!
The numbers are a bit down on April, but April was exceptionally good, and we had a bit of a break during the last third of May, so I'm happy with the results.
This year's totals to May 31 are: 322k video views, 1,031 new subs, 54 videos uploaded, and 10 new featured channels.

"Lifetime views" includes videos that have been deleted. We currently have 252 videos, with views totaling 860,563 - the figure shown on the channel "About" page. That gives average views/video of 3,415. Subs stand at 6,075.

2014 so far - on target!
Time for a catch up on channel performance...
April was a great month for FL channel: 105k views, 279 subs, 16 new videos, and 4 new flexers/channels featured. That's way ahead of our monthly target.
In 2014 so far, we've gained 223k views, 793 subs, uploaded 45 videos, and featured 9 new channels/flexers. That puts us right on target, in fact well ahead in video views, to achieve our aims for this year.
On top of that, today we smashed through 800,000 public views (803k), bringing average views for our 246 videos to around 3,260. Although a few very popular videos bump up the average, most videos do pretty well. Over half have more than 2,000 views, and 93% have over a thousand views.
Finally, all time views (including deleted videos) reached 945,000 - bringing us within striking distance of one million views sometime in May or June :D

¾ million!
Since I last updated a couple of weeks back, video views have rocketed, taking FL channel to ¾ million!

With 243 videos, that's an average of 3,000+ views/clip.
Not that we can't do a lot better, but one way we make sure clips get more views is by not uploaded several videos on the same day.
If you do that, your total views shoot up, but individual videos tend to get fewer hits. You pull in more subs, too, so it benefits your channel. But as the videos don't do as well, the boost for flexers' channels is less.
It's really the guys that make FlexingLads, that's why it's important we aren't selfish about how we use their vids :D

700,000
Seven hundred thousand views ...and falling???
No, FL channel is still clocking up views. Public videos just passed 700k, so we're marking that milestone with a pic...
But a couple of featured channels have taken down their stuff, so we'll be unlisting our videos from those guys for the time being. That way, when you watch an FL clip, you'll know it's linked to a channel with more footage of the same flexer.
Unlisted videos don't count towards public stats, so the counter may drop below 700k again. The good news is the lifetime stats in analytics clock all the views we've ever had. Currently, that number is 843k and will go on rising towards the million mark :D

FL channel : first 1/4 of 2014
This is how we did during January-March, compared to what we're aiming for this year:

We did best in views, getting 117k/125k target (94%). New flexers/channels featured was least good, with 5 added of 6-7 aimed for. 29/36 new videos was about the same rate of success (80ish%). And new subs of 514 - we wanted 600 - was in between, around 86%.
Bear in mind, unlike some channels, we have permission to upload every video.
Using someone else's clip without their consent, even if you link to their channel, is theft. It means you nicked their stuff to boost your channel. You took an easy option. And if you didn't get a strike for copyright violation, that's down to their goodwill. It doesn't mean what you did is ok.
The good news is that March was the best month for views and subs. If we maintain or better that, we'll reach our target of 1.2M views and 7.5k subs by the end of the year :D
Best of all, we now have our own FL website. So whatever happens with the channel, FL is no longer dependent on YouTube or other social sites.

FlexingLads signs Tom Daley
FlexingLads is proud to announce that we have signed Tom Daley!
It wasn't easy! Just google it, and you'll see that others have tried and failed. Tom, born May 21, is hard to sign.
Some say he's Taurus; some say Gemini; others admit they haven't a clue and call him Taurus-Gemini cusp. We solved the dilemma by focusing on Tom's year of birth - 1994.
In the Chinese Zodiac, Tom's sign is the Dog!

Tumblr photo browser
Tumblr is great for visual content - including sexy male muscle shots. But some Tumblr sites take an age to load, and some are a pain to navigate if all you want is eye candy.
Enter Tumview - a dedicated photo browser for Tumblr sites. Just enter a site's Tumblr ID, click "Show the photos", and you'll get a thumbnail gallery of all the site's images, including gifs.
Click on a thumb, and the image is displayed large. You can click to open the image in a new tab, or click on the image itself to visit the Tumblr page where it's displayed.
Chances are, the image was reblogged. In that case, there's a link to the Tumblr that originally posted the pic and another link that loads all of that Tumblr's images in Tumview.
Tip: For even easier browsing, tap the spacebar to load each image in turn!
So you can actually navigate the images on multiple Tumblr blogs very easily and quickly, and visit the blogs themselves. Altogether, a very useful tool - for both serious blogging and viewing fun!

Our website launch
FlexingLads website is now up and running!
There's still lots more to add, but you can already join the site (free), and once a member you can add other members as friends, set up groups - including a forum if you want one - and invite others to join.
It works like a mini-social site, where you can message other members and share stuff.
I'm still working on the appearance, so any feedback on that is very welcome. There will also be new features added soon. For example, we'll offer downloadable content (free and premium), as well as FL merchandise.
Joining is easy. Just click Register, top left. That will take you to a sign up page, and once you're done there, you'll get an activation email. Click on the link in that, or enter the code manually on the site, and you're in!
The Log in link is also top left. When you're logged in, top right you'll see your user name. Move your cursor over your name, and a drop down menu appears. Use that menu to navigate the membership area.
It shouldn't take long for you to work out how to use all the features. But if you get stuck, just message me (Kit), and I'll help you get sorted :)
